| The Rule of Thirds |
The idea behind this 'rule' is to think of your image divided into thirds. Where the lines cross are sometimes known as 'power points'. If you place your subject or your subject's eyes or point of interest on one of these points it often makes for a more visually pleasing image. The temptation is to put your subject in the centre but this is not a pleasing composition on the whole. (Although remember rules are made to be broken sometimes!)
